into one of the crazy urban buses.
Eventually, we jumped off and joined the ironically-titled "Slut Walk." Basically, in a number of countries where women's rights lag behind those of men or simply where women are treated as prostitutes or sluts for showing any skin. Hundreds of protestors walked for 40 blocks, holding signs and chanting, "Ni puntas, ni santas, solo mujeres con derechos!" ("Not sluts, not saints, only women with rights."
Comically, the sign Janne was given to hold reads, "You can look, but you can't touch."
Although most people wore their regular clothing, many wore costumes, short skirts, fishnet stockings, or bras over their shirts.
Throughout the entire route, the media and random passersby photographed the march and the police provided protection.
After the march, we headed back to Barranco and had a sumptuous meal of ceviche, yuca, chincharron, sweet potato, and arroz con mariscos. I seriously wish that I had taken photos of all the food I've eaten over the past few days.
After returning to the hostel, I ventured out for my last night in Lima with Jose and a bunch of his local friends.
Two new German hostel mates, Tolston and Matiseo came along as well.
Eventually we ended up at a Limeno house party and finally the night ended back at the hostel bar, with the owner, Juan, mixing the drinks.
